A Small Hello

Firstly, an apology for the radio silence on this blog. 2024 has proved to be a challenging year for both my personal and my family’s health. Things are still extremely tricky but I thought I’d write some mini updates of what I’m up to…

Doodling Goblins

Goblins are tiny mischief-makers that seem to pop up in my sketchbook again and again. They love harassing humans whether it be the ancient practice of curdling milk or the more modern technique of adding embarrassing typos to messages.

Writing On

I have many writing projects on the go in different phases of completion. All include magical elements, from stories inspired by Orkney folklore to mermaids, ghosts, witches. I’m hoping to reveal more news soon…

Forever Bookish

I’ve read some incredible books this year so far and feel endlessly inspired by their stories and writing styles. I would say reading was and continues to be my main form of learning how to write so it’s an important and extremely enjoyable way to spend time.

Books between two dog bookends.

Health will always greatly impact my life, now more than ever, but I’m pleased I’m continuing to draw, write and find solace in books.

Thank you for reading!

Ellen
