I hope you enjoy this wintry poem and illustration – I wrote it for all the moon-gazers out there…
The Wintering Ghost
The wintering ghost
Creeps in with the cold
It whispers with the dying leaves
It whispers of tales to be told
Silent and unseen
When berries all turn red
It whirls into the ice-bitten sky
It whirls above your cosy bed
It smiles ever softly
For its once-heart is kind
It plucks a lullaby into the air
It plucks a memory from your mind
Your memory is safest
Tucked into the darkest night
A bright moon will remember it with you
A bright moon will remember it right
You see why, moon-gazer
The night recalls what you treasure most
It is all because your heart is kind
It is all because of the wintering ghost

Here’s to a kind-hearted winter full of wondrous memories!
