Shortlisted for the Edinburgh Flash Award

I love flash fiction – especially writing it – and so I entered the Edinburgh Flash Fiction Award. It’s a wonderful competition of tiny stories all under 250 words!

I’m absolutely delighted that my story, ‘Three Drops of Spite’, was shortlisted. Although I didn’t win – huge congratulations to the winners! – it’s an honour to be one of the twenty shortlisted writers and to have my story published in an anthology later in the year.

I was disappointed not to make it to the Flash Bash awards ceremony in Edinburgh due to my health. But being shortlisted is a big achievement in itself and I’m very proud. (Obviously, celebratory cake was also eaten!)

You can head over to the Scottish Art Trusts website to see the results and their other competitions. It’s a truly amazing charity that champions the arts, especially in Scotland.
