A Poem in Poetry Scotland

The top of Poetry Scotland magazine on a a blanket.

I was delighted to have my poem, ‘Trees, Uncanny’ published in Poetry Scotland. It’s a brilliant magazine, jammed full of poetry, which I’ve enjoyed reading through.

I’ve been finding writing poetry helps when I’m not as well and a story is just a little too daunting. I write a poem in stolen moments – between pain, weakness, fatigue – sometimes in the early hours when the world is asleep or else when I feel everyone else is getting on with their super busy day.

It’s comforting to play around with words and make a small poem. They’re never profound or overly complicated – when I write them, my brain is not up to anything remotely complicated – but I like them and that’s what counts.

The poem, ‘Trees, Uncanny’, by Ellen Forkin.

Hope you enjoyed the poem!

Thanks for reading,

Ellen
